Try absolute positioning with something like this:

.tree {
    position: absolute;
    top: 0;
    right: 30%;
}

Additional info, you may also need to give the menu a z-index value to make sure its background color doesn’t disappear behind the tree image:

#site-navigation {
    z-index: 1;
}
